The scalp can be compared to a garden, it's surface reflects what's going on underneath. Good scalp care is the key to ensuring that hair follicles have an excellent foundation on which they grow, giving you luscious, strong health strands of hair.
1. Head massage with natural oil
Giving your head a few minutes of massage once a week helps stimulate circulation. This keeps hair follicles active and therefore, strengthens them, preventing hair fall. Heat up some natural oil - coconut, olive, canola until it's warm and gently massage into scalp. Leave oil on for about 30 minutes before showering and rinsing it off with mild shampoo. This also promotes relaxation and reduces stress which another known cause of hair loss.
2. Use aloe vera to restore natural pH level of scalp
The mildly alkaline property of Aloe vera helps in restoring the natural pH level of the scalp which promotes hair growth, helps with flaking, reduce inflammation and redness. Take an Aloe Vera leaf, collect the pulp and apply it to the scalp and hairs. Leave it on for 45 minutes to an hour and wash off the hair with plenty of normal water. Follow this treatment for 3 – 4 times a week for better results.
3. Try onion juice
While the idea of putting onion on your hair may put you off with it's pungent smell, studies published in scientific journals have proven that more than 70% of the participants experienced significant hair growth with this technique. Grate one onion and strain it. Then, apply the juices onto your scalp and leave on for 30 minutes. Finally, wash your hair as usual. Do this 2-3 times per week for several weeks for visible results.
4. The rich protein and vitamins in egg whites can help hair loss
You lose hair because of poor nourishment and dryness of scalp. Egg white is rich in protein and vitamins. It nourishes your hair in the best way, promoting smooth & shiny hair. Just break 2 eggs, collecting only the egg white and apply it as a mask to the scalp. Wash it off with shampoo after 30 minutes to an hour. It will make your hair stronger and healthier. Then, repeat this treatment at least once a week to reduce hair fall and boost hair growth. If you don't fancy having your hair smelling like raw eggs, use egg oil as an alternative.
5. Try green tea because its anti-oxidants boost scalp circulation
Rich in anti-oxidants, they fight free radicals, increase oxygen in the body and circulation to the scalp. Take one cup water in a pan and boil it, add two tbsp of green tea leaves, 1 lemon peel and 3-4 tbsp of coconut oil. Heat the mixture for 2 more minutes and let it cool down completely. Apply this liquid on your hair and scalp and massage it in for few mins. Finally, let sit for 45 minutes and then rinse off with shampoo. You can do this 3-4 times a month for better results.
